POLICIES

How we train. How we treat each other. How this works.

ATTENDANCE

  • Class starts on time. Arrive at least 5 minutes early — students who haven’t arrived by the first warm-up song may not particiate. No credits for late arrivals.

Membership & Financial

  • Credits are issued monthly and do not roll over. Use them within your billing period.

  • Book individual classes through the Fitli calendar or class list.

  • Withdraw from a class up to 4 hours before start time. Late withdrawals forfeit the credit. If you realize you won’t make it inside the 4-hour window, withdraw through Fitli anyway — your credit is forfeit, but we will know you are not coming and your spot will open up.

  • Cancel anytime through Fitli on desktop or mobile browser. Membership remains active through the current billing period. Billing stops at next renewal.

  • No refunds.

Membership Pauses

  • Available to all members for absences of 7 or more consecutive days. This covers travel, illness, injury, and life.

  • Terms: up to 2 pauses per 12-month period, maximum 4 weeks each. Advance notice preferred. Emergencies handled individually — reach out.

  • When a pause is approved, your billing cycle extends by the length of the pause.

  • To request a pause, text 808-275-6447 or email lkedojoofficial@gmail.com.

Hygiene

  • We train without air conditioning. Come clean. Wear ample deodorant.

  • Wash your knit inner gloves regularly. They go into shared gear and need to stay clean. If you train multiple days a week, own multiple pairs.

  • Keep your nails trimmed. Long nails break during training — on your hands and your partners’. This is a safety issue.

Health & Illness

  • If you are actively sick and contagious, stay home. No credits for illness.

  • If you have a lingering symptom but are past the contagious stage, use your judgment and err on the side of your community.

Injury

  • If you’re coming in with an injury, tell us before class. We’ll figure out together whether you can train and how to modify safely.

Gear & Equipment

  • Boxing gloves — 14oz or 16oz — must be purchased within 3 weeks of joining. Communal gloves are available until then.

  • After every session: spray down your gloves and shin guards, wipe them down, let them air out. Do not put damp gear into a bag and leave it. Take care of your equipment.

Dojo Etiquette

  • Shoes off at the edge of the mats.

  • We bow. When entering the mats, when exiting, when greeting each other, at the end of class line. It is how we show respect for the art, for each other, and for this space.

  • Pay attention when the coaches are teaching. No talking during instruction.

  • If you are not in class, be mindful of the space. Others are training.

Conduct & Community

  • Decisions about your training — including when you’re ready to advance — are made by your coaches, in your best interest. Trust them.

  • Treat everyone here with kindness and respect regardless of age, experience, body size, sex, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

  • Do not comment on anyone’s weight gain or weight loss, even if it is meant to be a complement.

  • Honor pronouns. If you don’t know, ask. If you make a mistake, correct yourself and move on.

  • When you work with a newer student — teach, guide, encourage. It will make you better.

  • We are not interested in ego, hierarchy, or drama. Do not bring that in.

  • Yes to friendship. Hard no to cliques.

Photography & Video

  • Students consent to appearing in LKE Dojo videos and social media content as part of the waiver. This includes the end-of-class video.

Visitors

  • Guests are welcome to watch. All visitors must be Women+. Let us know in advance.
